Spanish as a Language
TO study the Spanish language is very enthralling indeed. The procedure is to enroll first in a language school online while one is still in his or her home country. Then one must secure the necessary papers like a visa. If one comes from another European country, one doesn’t need a visa anymore. Since the Iberian Peninsula where Spain can be found is part of the European mainland, there are certainly lots of land border crossings out here but with no border outposts. That was obviously part of the Schengen agreement where Europeans are permitted to cross any European country anytime.
The next step one needs to do is to book your place of stay for the six-month language program. But there are language schools which package billeting as part of the tuition fees. Some of them even let you immerse with a Spanish family for the whole six months of the program. You will eat plenty of authentic Spanish food in your host family’s home. Of course, this is certainly not deducted from your tuition since the Spanish family will be glad to learn your native language too which is English. That is exactly the point why they have made themselves available in the language program of the school. You will also have some excursions in nearby areas where the language school is located. Some of these excursions may happen to be going to a nudist beach, to a bullfight, to a Holy Week festival or the feasts of any of the patron saints in that part of the country where the language school is located. Make sure to enroll in the language school during summer because this is when most of these activities are taking place. The night is not an exception.
One can party till the wee hours of dawn in those beaches where youngsters flock and enjoy house and techno music. If you’re lucky, you can catch spectacular fireworks by the coast during festival nights. Of course, expenses incurred in these cruises will be incurred by your tuition. But what is exciting about this is that one will be exposed to the different public places in Spain where only Castilian or Spanish is spoken. You are given the chance to eavesdrop on people’s conversations and try to make out some of the dialogue. Once you can discern their speeches, it must have been understood that you have learned the language already.
The six-month course that was mentioned earlier is only the beginner’s program. But if you want to learn more about the Spanish language and its various dialects, then stay here for another six months or so for the intermediate program. The last six months is dedicated to the advanced program. Once one has graduated from advanced Spanish language studies, one is given a certificate which states that the bearer is automatically eligible to officially teach Spanish in his or her own home country. And you can get that for only a total of 18 months or almost two years of your stay here in this very beautiful nation that is Spain.
