 A good language school

A good language schoolIn the past century schools are not very important to our ancient people, as long as they can eat three times a day, well that’s enough for them. But we admire them even though they didn’t study languages but they can understand each other. People before are very clever unlike today in our time. We cannot just talk to other countries without knowing there language. But we are not that very dull because we really try our best to find a way that we can communicate other countries through learning there languages. Our governments build some school where we can learn and study some basic language. Teachers are there to educate us and give their best effort just to teach us. Schools nowadays are very important since it is a gateway of having a better life sooner or later. Without schools we can’t even write our name or speak our own language. Though there are a lot of schools everywhere; even in the highest part of the country still we can see few schools operated. And a lot of teachers are willing to teach dangerous places especially in the mountain just to educate native people for them to compete people from the city. Through the help of our government and some missionary volunteers our native people from the mountain are now learning the modern culture we have.

The best way to learn about a culture (and the best way to learn a language) is by mixing with native people. Your language school should encourage this, organizing social events. A very reputable language school is famous for its Tapas Tours - students can pay 6€ and be taken round various bars of the city, sampling local dishes. This is great because not only do the pupils get to meet each other and interact outside of the classroom but they can also talk to teachers (who are Spanish natives) in a much more relaxed setting. However, let us point out that one should not rely on a language school to organize a whole trip! You have to have initiative too. Why not organize a games night, playing the “juegos de casino” of Spain whilst practicing Spanish and having fun? Quiz nights are also great ideas as each question can prompt discussion - the best language learning tool! Just whatever you do, make sure you do it with enthusiasm!

There are a lot of schools today especially language school for people who are interested to learn different languages. Like English language school in Dublin, if you are taking up language class in this particular school everything is possible. Ireland is of a top destination for foreign students to learn English language. Since Dublin is a friendly place where foreign students can study well with the help of there approachable teachers. The Irish College of English, this school offered a variety of courses including English language, General English and Business English. They have full time class in morning and part time class in the evening. There students are engaged in any communicative activities to develop their ability to speak and read English language. And they are aware on how to deliver an accurate English language. Teachers are given their best effort to help and support their students. And most importantly the school has a huge library with hi-speed internet access where students can use it to help them enhance their knowledge and develop their English skills.

Aside from that, school staffs are all professionals with a good experience in teaching. The school assures their students that they will give their best to teach their students the accurate methods of English language. And school provides their students complete modern facilities to learn the language. And for the teachers in that particular school also have access to the latest technology and visual training aids for language teaching in the classroom. If you want to know English language accurately then why not enroll in any language school to enhance your English skills. It is very interesting to know the different languages aside from your own language.

The Story Behind the Success of English Language Acquisition in the United States

The Story Behind the Success of English Language Acquisition in the United StatesNOT all people from the other half of the world that English is not the official language in the United States. India may be the world’s largest democracy but to the strictest sense of the word, the United States is certainly the most democratic country in the world. The fact remains that majority of the people in the United States (Caucasian and African-American alike) speak English but because of democracy at work, lobbyists from the Hispanics, the immigrants and the Native Americans are making sure that English must not be called an official language.

Politics may well play an important role here because the Republicans are clearly the conservative ones but the Democrats are the ones who are craving for change. I personally have a line to walk here because as a Roman Catholic, I certainly cannot tolerate their stand on pro-abortion. On the other hand, I do not want the rights of the gays, the Native Americans, African-Americans and the immigrants to be trampled. The idea of making English as the official language in this country does not worry me at all.

After all, we need English to deal with entrepreneurs in this country. It’s not like Canada where half of the people speak English and the other half speak French. So there are lots of children here in the United States who direly need English education. Most of them are Hispanics and the sons and daughters of immigrants.

And that’s when I admire the conservative President Bush to come in. In 2002, he signed into law a landmark legislation called the No Child Left behind Act. The $15-billion Act is aimed to fund massive public education for children of non-English speaking immigrants as well as Hispanics and other impoverished children who cannot afford to pay private elementary and secondary schools here. Of course, this includes acquisition of the English language. And that’s where my admiration of President Bush comes in. Even if he is conservative, he certainly values the minorities in this country.

His wife, whom herself is a teacher prior to being First Lady, has also initiated in her own way the injection of English language acquisition in the education mainstream, not just in public schools but also in private schools. The First Lady, being a private citizen, can easily convince the private sector to have its own counterpart in the No Child Left behind Act. Because of her efforts, the superintendent of Roman Catholic education in Washington, DC, Patricia Weitzel-O’Neill, has initiated massive English language acquisition in her own area. Her practice is now replicated by Roman Catholic education superintendents all over the country. There are 2.3 million students in Roman Catholic high schools nationwide and all of them benefit this English language acquisition method. Because of that, 97 percent of graduates in Roman Catholic schools ultimately go to college. Now isn’t that lovely?

About

Human beings rely largely on language as a means of communication. In fact, it has been said that languages - no matter what they may be - are what makes the human race unique from other creatures on this earth. In the past, culture, technology, and basically the set up of societies did not really pose the need for people to learn a language other than their own. The average person, in his lifetime, was only exposed to people from the same culture and environment as he was. As such, there was really no need to learn how to interact and communicate with the rest of the world.

Advances in technology and awareness of other people have changed that situation to a great extent, however. Today, people from all corners of the world have ways and means to interact and communicate with each other. More than this, the need for this interaction and communication has arisen over the years as well. As such, learning another language is not at all that uncommon for many people today.

With the rising demand for learning a language other than one's mother tongue, language schools have cropped up all over the place as well. Language schools have been in existence in many parts of the world for a very long time now. However, it was only in the recent decades that language schools have increased exposure.
